This is a piece I created for the 36th Annual Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show poster in 2011.
The poster has to include the mountains and some kind of quilting reference. I divided the image into 36 subtle squares ( note the difference in the patterning in each area) to represent the 36 years of the show. I included those orchestral members-- the Mountain Bluebirds, frogs and crickets... even a turtle for percussion as he jumps into the water.
